In the manufacturing industry, appearance and size detection is really important part.  Before on sales, each product may go through hundreds of different appearance and size detection processes from the initial materials, parts to the final finished products. 1. Definition of size detection

Size detection is to inspect whether the product size is within the tolerance range based on the drawing, so as to find the error of shape and size. In addition, the accuracy of machining datum position, machining allowance distribution and wall thickness deviation can be carefully detected.

2. Methods of size detection

 The actual size of the product is often an indispensable parameter, but it may not be available due to the complexity of the object surface or the limitations of objective physical conditions. Vision detection technology can deal with such problems well. In the traditional automatic production, the typical method of size detection is to use micrometer, vernier caliper, feeler gauge and other naked eyes to measure, which has low measurement accuracy and slow speed, and can not meet the needs of large-scale automatic production.

Vision inspection technology is a kind of non-contact detection method, which has the advantages of high detection accuracy, high speed, low cost, convenient installation and so on. It can detect parts of various sizes, such as length, height, width, circle, R angle, multi-stage height, etc.

3. Application of size detection

Electronic components, automotive parts, mobile phone parts, nuts, hardware, magnetic materials, plastic, ceramics, buttons and other composite material components, magnesium, aluminum and their alloy parts can be inspected by machine vision inspection technology.
